  1. Oh heck, does this mean I have to spend another $31.49? Or can I get by with my first edition? This is what I hate about being interested in computers, my desire to have the most up to date books gets expensive.

  2. I feel your pain, Alan! We have lots of great stuff in the new edition, and I think it will be worth it. I’ll offer some samples soon…

  3. Can’t wait to get a new “Inside Out”! It’s always been the best reference manual for windows…..by far. Thanks Ed.

  4. I am in Australia. My Windows Vista Inside Out cost me $A79.99 from a major Australian book seller.

Why can’t the Vista SP1 updates be made available on a CD? I am willing to pay for that! But I am not willing to pay another $A80, even though the Australian dollar has risen. Here you frequently find the Australian price of computer books to be roughly double that of the US price. Best wishes.

  5. It’s not as simple as that, Bert. Yes, there’s 300 pages of completely new content, but we rewrote the rest of the book to reflect a year’s worth of knowledge and experience with Windows Vista. I think it’s safe to say there are changes throughout the book. But let me talk to the publishers and see what I can do.

  6. $31.49! Time for a quick trip to Detroit to get the book cheaper. It’s $62.99 in store or $41.57 online (you have to love the discrepancy) at Chapters in Canada.

But I see I can pre-order “Windows Vista Inside Out Deluxe Edition” for $43.55 CDN.

  7. Thanks for your comment, Ed. Your Vista Inside Out is a great book. I use it frequently. I hope that something can be done. Another $A80 is out of the question for me, and probably many others. Cheers and best wishes, Bert.
