Great read. As an Ultimate x64 user, I think they’ve really lagged on the “Ulti-Ware” so to speak. Past BitLocker, I’ve seen little reason to justify the premium paid for Ultimate over Home Premium.

What boggles my mind is that they couldn’t leverage their Microsoft Press division to at least come up with some Tips and Tricks type eBooks. Barring that, they could have hired freelance writers to do it for them. Yeah, I know, eBooks are not the ultimate Ultimate extra, but at least they would have been SOMETHING until they could get back on track. There continued silence sure “sounds” like they’re nowhere near “back on track”. Hard to imagine that they could have resource problems, but it seems likely. You know, I expected some really awesome extras, because providing cool stuff would lead to more updates to Ultimate, more upgrades to Ultimate means more money for Microsoft. Oh well, the wait continues…
Wow, WTF is Microsoft thinking? A Vista Plus Pack?! That’s so lame I can’t even imagine why they’d do that… As an owner of several Vista Ultimate licenses, I would hope that these things just become Extras.
