A v2 extender update

I got in touch with folks at Linksys and D-Link today about their delayed v2 Media Center extenders. The latest word is that Linksys should have product available for sale “very soon” (perhaps even before New year’s) whereas the D-Link devices won’t be publicly available until after CES.

  1. Ed,

I have a question and I can’t find an email address for you so I hope you don’t mind if I ask it here. Do you know whether Microsoft ever intends to release a 64-bit driver for their fingerprint reader?

I have the Fingerprint Reader/Wireless IntelliMouse combination where the Fingerprint Reader is part of the IntelliMouse Receiver. It is a real waste if there will be no 64-bit driver because otherwise I’ve had no real issues with Vista Ultimate x64.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide and for all the excellent work blogging and in your books.

P.S. I searched through my copy of Windows Vista Inside Out before submitting this request. Excellent book!!
