Looks like I’ll have a full day (and evening) in Chicago early next month. Any suggestions on what to do? Any interest in a geek dinner, Windy City-style?

Dress warm!
Sure I would be interested in a get together.
There’s a ton of stuff to do in Chicago if you have the time. Unfortunately, I don’t live close enough or I’d be interested in that Geek Dinner, etc.
If you like great 50s-style burgers and you want to have some fun, try Ed Debevic’s. The waiters are rude (but good, really!) and you can sass them back. Don’t miss the World’s Smallest Sundae – you get to keep the glass!

If you have a whole day off, the Museum of Science & Industry is awesome. The current temporary huge exhibit is on Star Wars. http://www.msichicago.org/
Let me know what day and I’ll see if I can get off work for dinner. 🙂
Why not make it a G(r)eek Dinner?
Chicago’s Greek-town has plenty of good restaurants and is located just west of downtown, and just north of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).

If you got a whole day, check out Millennium Park and if you’re hungry for Chicago style pizza, Uno’s is the best.

Bring a sweater! Have fun!
p.s. If you have a chance to go back next year 08 check out the museum of Broadcast Communications. (Currently moving to new digs. You wont be dissapointed!
Oooh, I have to disagree! Giordano’s pizza is the best!
When Jan was there a few years ago, she really enjoyed an architecture tour. She can give you details.
I suggest the Museum of Science and Industry as well.
I’d also join a group for dinner or otherwise!
I always try to get to the Art Institute of Chicago:

There are many great blues bars and jazz clubs you might want to visit the greenmill:
