Goodbye, Outlook Express

Windows Vista 1 Minute

I missed this last month, I guess. Microsoft’s Bryan Starbuck spills the beans:

The name of Outlook Express will be renamed Windows Mail when Windows Vista is released.

This is a newer and simplier name, and it resolves confusion with Outlook.

  1. Hi Ed. Just started reading here and had to comment on this one.

    Let’s see… Internet Mail came with Internet Explorer version dot. Then it became Outlook Express, causing probable man-years of agony to IT professionals around the world, and now it will be “Windows Mail”. Yes, a long time coming.
