Anyone using AOL e-mail with Outlook 2003?

This article from Microsoft Office Assistance says you can set up Outlook to connect to AOL’s e-mail servers using IMAP. I don’t have an AOL e-mail account, so I can’t test this myself. Has anyone tried this? Does it work?

  1. Yes, I’ve been using it since it came out about 6 months ago. It works well. You can use most of your Outlook features with it, including setting up rules for you AOL inbox.

  2. It works, and I believe it is more than a year old. I used it when it was launched, though I dont remember precisely when that was. However, I recall using it last year, yes, more than a year now.

  3. Yes, I found a reference to the technique (right here on this site, no less!) from April 2004. So it’s clearly been around for well over a year.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

  4. Yeah, I’ve been using my legacy AOL account through Outlook 2003 for over a year now.

    Works perfectly.
