I don’t feel safer

A report from Think Progress points out that infants have been stopped from boarding planes at airports throughout the U.S. because their names are the same as or similar to those of possible terrorists on the government’s “no-fly list.”

This can’t be good news.

Edited to fix broken link.

  1. Using the search on the NCTimes page I think I found the article that the post is refering to. One would think it is obvious that an infant is not a terrorist?

    The link is here.

  2. I’ll second that Peter – and I am a government employee.

I have been working at the municipal level for 8 years now and it seems that each year someone has to make something even more complicated. I work in the Urban Planning field and we used to take pride when we could write a report to Council that was no more than one page long. Not anymore. Most of my reports have grown to 2, 3 or more pages in length. All because my managers think we have to cover every “angle” and provide every bit of useless information, just to cover their behinds. Send me to Council, I’ll answer their questions!
