I miss Calvin and Hobbes

The greatest comic strip ever drawn has been gone for a decade now. But fortunately, it lives on through the miracle of the WWW. Today’s strip (from August 9, 1994) is especially good.

  1. I also miss Calvin and Hobbes. I was a cartoonist when Watterson was doing his best stips, and it was humbling comparing my stuff to his 🙂

BTW, there’s a “Complete Calvin and Hobbes” collection coming out this fall.

  2. Oops – had I taken the time to follow your links before posting that last comment, I would’ve realized you already know about the C&H collection!

  3. Ed: Wow, you have great taste in cartoons. Although I miss Calvin and Hobbes, what’s worse for me than missing them is seeing the way Berkley Breathed is tarnishing my fond memories of Bloom County, the other great comic of that era. I think I laughed maybe twice in almost 2 years at his new strip.
Hopefully I won’t have to buy the complete C&H collection. I think I have close enough to all of the individual books to make my collection complete as is.

  4. Calvin & hobbes was the best ever. They do still publish books of collection strips from old news papers. I have every book except 2 or 3. My dad got me interested in them and ever since i never stoped reading them. I still reread the books at night sometimes. One day they will be the most valuable comic on the planet!!!
