Like everyone else in the world who uses Movable Type, I’ve been affected by a bug that cropped up last week on sites that use CPanel. Bottom line: Lots of errors, major PITA when trying to post anything more than a few sentences. Until the issue is fixed, expect light posting.

You should seriously consider moving to WordPress. Not that it’s completely bugless, but WordPress bugs are usually less critical and fixed much faster.
I actually have WordPress installed on this server. I’ve tested it and I like it. The logistics of moving the site over are nontrivial, however, starting with templates and ending with search engines. Given that I’m in the process of moving this month, while trying to finish one book and start another at the same time, it’s not a good time for the project! Maybe in September…
Sorry for the problems, Ed, looks like the next CPanel update should fix this issue. We’ll double-check to make sure that resolves it for everyone and then post an update.
And I’d compare our response times on bug fixes favorably to anyone’s. More to the point, we disclose our issues prominently enough that you can find out about them from us, either on our site or right within the Movable Type application, which our business users tell us is a critical requirement.
There’s a number of other strengths for professional users, ranging from really great technical support to support for multiple blogs, but in general, we want to make sure MT is the best choice for professional bloggers.
