Omar Shahine’s Creative Zen Micro vs iPod review is excellent, and his conclusion (“Kick Ass – better than iPod”) matches with mine. I only wish that Creative would make this device in a 20GB or larger format.

I read that earlier and I agree. I wish Creative would have released a larger hard drive version. 6GB seemed so small for me, because I want to use it as a portable mass storage device too. I went back and forth on this. I even thought about getting the Creative Zen Touch. But once I read that it will not be recognized as a general drive when plugged in, I purchased a close-out 40GB iPod photo. Not really wanting the “photo” capability, but rather because it was only $10 more than the new 30GB version and still has the dock.
I made a writing mistake. I meant to say the 40GB was $10 cheaper than the 30GB.
Creative just realeased a 20 gb version of the zen micro in other countries. It’s 11 mm longer but has the same features. The backing is now black and made out of a non-scratch material. Checkout CNetAsia review: http://www.asia.cnet.com/reviews/portable_av/0,39033456,39088101p,00.htm

Zen is WAY better than iPod! It even has a cooler name!
